Notes of antiquarian tours through the counties of England, undertaken by Richard Gough in 1759-71 (Nichols, Literary Anecdotes, vi. 269 note), with a short index of places. There are many drawings or etchings of churches, of views, and of monumental and architectural details.
After some printed accounts of Gough:
- Bedfordshire (1778; fol. 86);
- Berkshire (1768; fol. 143, cf. 213);
- Buckinghamshire (1768; fol. 198);
- Cambridgeshire (1762?; fol. 221);
- Cheshire (1770; fol. 246);
- Cornwall (1765; fol. 305, cf. 374). (fols. 362-73) are occupied with four original letters to Gough from the rev. Benjamin Forster, 1775-1779, the 1st, 2nd, and 4th of which are printed nearly entire in Nichols's Illustrations of Literary History, v. 860-64;
- Cumberland (1771; fol. 387).
