A transcript by an ignorant person of a 16th century book on witchcraft, containing methods of conjuring up familiar spirits to do the will of the magician: the first, 'A godly way to have a familor Sperit which will tell you all wayes your deSire ...', was 'proued now of late in Cambridg in the yeere 1557.' At p. 86 rev. are accounts of particular familiar spirits.
