  1. P. 1. notes from MSS. Ball. coll. 164-5 concerning the council of Basel, followed by extracts from the 1571 edition of Matthew Paris (p. 17b)
  2. P. 30. notes from a MS. of Nicholas Trivet's annals and (p. 43) Ivo of Chartres MS. 88 'de gestis Assyriorum etc.', being MSS. 256 and 88 respectively at Merton college
  3. P. 53. extracts from the Architrenius of John of Hauteville in MS. Digby 157, followed at p. 64 by a passage from the sermon frequently printed of Richard fitz-Ralph preached at Avignon 8 [November] 1357
  4. P. 70. notes from a MS. (probably MS. Bodl. 738, the only Oxford one) of Nicholas Trivet on the Psalms, followed at p. 75 by long passages from printed books
  5. P. 102. excerpts from William Thorne's chronicle headed 'Lib. MS. de Monasterio Apost. Petri et Pauli Cant. Magd. Coll.' and (p. 113) Ailred of Rievaulx's 'Genealogia Regum Anglorum', here entitled 'de morte Davidis regis Scotorum', often printed, both said to be at Magdalen college, but not now known to exist there
  6. P. 118. 'Directorium passagii ad terram sanctam per quendam fratrem ordinis predicatorum ad Philippum Franciae regem, anno 1332', being the work of Guillaume Adam, printed from other MSS. in Recueil des Historiens des Croisades (Doc. Armeniens, ii. 367 ff.)
  7. P. 120. 'Ludus scaccorum', from MS. 12 at Magdalen college, written by Simon Aylward in 1456, and (p. 138) Richard Rolle of Hampole 'de arte moriendi' from MS. Magd. coll. 72
  8. P. 139. 'Ex MS. Johannis Smith militis de monachis sancti Augustini', and 'petitiones Richardi Vllerston quoad reformationem ecclesiae militantis' (derived from MS. Magd. coll. 89, fol. 31) in a MS. possessed by mr. Brian Twine (p. 144)
  9. P. 159. notes from MSS. at Lincoln college, followed by extracts from the meditations (cp. MS. Bodl. 83) of Eckbert abbot of Schönau (p. 175) and from the 'speculum regis' of Simon Islip, archbp. of Canterbury (p. 179)
