The formal deed by which archbp. Laud resigned his Chancellorship of the University of Oxford, June 22, 1641, signed by himself 'W. Cant.', in the presence of four attesting witnesses, in the Tower of London. The signature is on the (now loose) strip of parchment which bore the seal, of which latter no trace remains: the deed is in Latin, the attestation in English.
