A chartulary with rentals and terriers of the lands in Leicestershire of Bartholomew Brokesby, compiled (see fol. 109v) in 1445. The heading 'Registrum Bartholomei Brokesby de terris et tenementis suis in villis infrascriptis' (fol. 1) is followed by a table of contents reaching only to fol. 105, and preceded by memoranda of dates when rents fell due (fol. ivv).

Custodial History

At the bottom of fol. 1, from which a miniature and a coat of arms have been cut, are a merchant's mark; the arms of Brokesby: barry nebuly of six, or and gules, on a canton of the second a mullet pierced or. Thomas Brokesby's signature is on fol. 187.

Formerly no. 109 in the library of Ralph Sheldon of Beoley (see MS. Wood D. 6, fol. 59).

Custodial History
