Treble part-book of Anthems (front) and Services (back, volumes reversed), 1797-1835, n.d.
Copied mid 18th cent. by one hand. Sections in the pair of part-books, MSS. Mus. d. 150 and d.153, were replaced by different hands up to mid-19th cent. The same music, nearly all found in the folio part-books MSS. Mus. c. 46-47 and c. 50, was probably contained in both books, but MS. Mus. d. 153 retains services and anthems not now found in MS. Mus. d. 150. Space left in MS. Mus. d. 150 was used for music by Handel and by Mozart. This last was written by W. Jacobs, 1835. Space in MS. Mus. d. 153 was used by G. Heathcote in 1797-1798 for extra parts of music which he added in the set '2' (MSS. Mus. d. 156, 158, 161 and 166), and similarly another hand added Raylton's Evening Service in E flat.
A different hand of about the same date copied music by Nares (anthems and services), W. Boyce (Te Deum) and C. King (Evening Service in A), none of which appears elsewhere in the collection.
