In many early and later 17th-cent. hands, much augmented by William King (see fol. 40v) and apparently compiled by him. There are incorporated leaves from an early collection with Decani and Cantoris parts copied in two instances on facing pages (fols. 27v-29). This collection included music by Mr. [Thomas (?)] Mudd of St. Paul's in London, [Richard] Farrant the older, [John] Farrant of Sarum, Tallis, Tomkinsand Mr. [William] Mundie the older. In the early years of the Restoration, i.e. before B. Rogers's doctorate, 1669, were added (fols. 60-75v) Services by Batten, Boyce [Thoms Boyse (?)], Gibbons, Byrd, W. Kingand Mr. Rogers. W. King added 'Tallis's Holy' on fol. 68, and copied in other spaces and on added leaves music by himself (17 Anthems and a Service), by his predecessor R. Pickhayer (3 Anthems and a Litany), Rogers, Child, Wise and John Ferrabosco. After Blow became D. Mus. (1677) another hand (fols. 38v-39, 47-55) added music by Tallis, Byrd, Gibbons and Dr. Blow. Fols. 11v and 57v are in the hand of the elder Richard Goodson (organist from 1682).
