Miscellaneous transcripts by Roger Dodsworth:
1. Fol. 1. 'Rotulus de dominabus' (Exch. K. R. Knights' Fees 1/2); an abridged transcript of rott. 1-2, 6-11, 3-4. A full transcript of this roll by Dewes and Dodsworth is in the British Museum (Harl.MS. 624).
2. Fol. 15. Extracts from a roll 'in 10 rotulis simul ligatis de diversis inquisitionibus de feodis captis 20 H. 3 [really 1242-3] in com. Lincoln', then in the Exchequer but no longer traceable: see Book of Fees, p. 1143. A copy of this roll is in the British Museum (Add. MS. 6118).
3. Fol. 39. 'Evidentie extracte de libro feodorum [= Testa de Nevil] ... de feodis militum in com. Northant. liberande collectoribus scutagii de exercitu Scocie, anno primo Regis E[dwardi] tertii.' These are transcripts of the feudal returns for Northamptonshire for 1235-6 (rott. 2-4, 6) and 1242-3 (rott. 1, 6, 8).
4. Fol. 47. Miscellaneous notes, chiefly extracts from placita de quo warranto for Yorkshire:

- 'Ex cartulario abbatie de Barlings ... in bibliotheca Cottoniana' [Faust. B i] (fol. 51v, continued in no. 5019, fol. 42)
- De banco rolls, Edw. i (fol. 53), and coram rege rolls, Edw. ii (fol. 57v) and Edw. iii (fol. 56)
- Close rolls, 21 Hen. vi-6 Edw. iv (fol. 65)
- Mr. Samuel Roper's books of pleas, containing extracts from the plea-rolls of Edw. i and ii (fols. 73, 77, 83)
- Interspersed with these are other items (enumerated in Hunter's Three Catalogues as artt. 5-16), including a pedigree and (forged) evidences of Roper of Heanor (fol. 70), and an extract from a MS. of the Historia Anglorum of Henry of Huntingdon (fol. 74)
5. Fols. 85, 118. Cheshire collections:
- Fols. 85, 121v. abstracts of evidences of the family of Leycester of Toft: these include (fol. 87) a series of 13th-16th-cent. deeds of the family of Colwich of Colwich, co. Staffs.
- Fol. 93. 'carta fundationis abbatie de Cumbermere', extracts from a lost chronicle of Dieulacres abbey (fol. 94), and other notes by William Vernon of Shakerley (continued at fol. 118), with a covering letter from him to Dodsworth, Aug. 16, 1638 (fol. 96)
- Fol. 97. abstracts of select 'inquisitiones [post mortem] in scaccario Cestrie', 35 Edw. iii-16 Hen. vii
6. Fol. 105. Abstracts of deeds 'in transcripto cartarum terras familie Wodfordorum in com. Leic[estrensi] spectantium, modo penes Carolum Smith de Wotton in com. Warw[icensi] militem': the Woodford chartulary is now Cotton MS. Claud. A. xiii in the British Museum.
7. Fol. 113. Abstracts of deeds (13th-16th centt.) of the family of Hudleston of Millom in Cumberland, 'in custodia Henrici Lilly': the 13th-cent. deeds have been calendared in MS. slips.
8. Fol. 128. Copies of papal decrees for canonization of stt. Thomas and Edmund of Canterbury, A.D. 1173 and 1247, not in Dodsworth's hand.
There is a 'tabula pro nominibus virorum' at fol. iii: Yorkshire place-names are indexed in MS. Dodsworth 21.
