A Spanish Portolano, containing nine coloured maps embracing roughly the world, written in the second half of the 16th cent. in Spain
Comprises maps of India etc. (two); Africa; W. Indies, Mexico, and part of S. America (two); the North Pacific Ocean and its coasts; Western and Southern Europe with the N. coast of Africa; and the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea. Some discoveries dated 1544 are on the 5th and 7th maps.
