With prologue dedicating the work to '... N... eldest sone an heire vn to ... H. the v [sic, but an erasure follows, so probably there was originally vi, an error for iv] ... king of Ingelonde ... ': chapt. 1 beg. 'Of the hare ... An hare is a common beest': the work describes hunting and hounds, and is mentioned in the Book of Hunting connected with the name of Juliana Barnes as by Edward duke of York, d. 1415 (see Douce's notes on fol. ii). At fol. 72 are '... the statutes and the lawes of the kynges forestes.'.

With the armorial bookplate of 'Charles Chauncy M.D.' (d. 1777).
