A Tropary, with sequences and other musical parts of the Mass, with musical notes, written in the 11th cent. in North Italy

MS. Douce 222

  • Request

Long lists of saints occur at fols. 70, 71v, 72v, 75v: a Prosary begins at fol. 82: the end is lost, and fol. 207 is rather later than the rest.

A note of the 18th cent. suggests that the mentions of st. Heldrad (fols. 71, 78) point to Novalaise in Piedmont. A facsimile of fol. 102 is in the printed catal. of 1840. [I venture to append to the present volume the results of a special examination of this MS. E.W.B.N.].
