Hours of the Virgin according to the use of Rome, preceded by a French calendar (fol. 3), Capitula and prayers, written in the 15th cent. in France
Followed by:
- the Penitential Psalms with litany (fol. 123)
- Hours of the Holy Spirit (fol. 154)
- Office for the Dead (fol. 162)
- Suffrages (fol. 224)
- prayers, one in French
All the rubrics in French.
There are seven good full-page miniatures, but an equal number of leaves bearing them are missing after fols. 29, 77, 87, 92, 102, 122, 161, making the text imperfect. Every page also has a border.
On fols. 1v, 2, are the illuminated arms of Fremin and of Fremin quartering others: no doubt the volume was written for a member of that family.
Two armorial 18th cent. book-plates, one 'ex libris de Belissen eques', the other apparently of the branch of the Orleans family who were marquises of Rothelin, are in the volume.
