Historical documents, Written chiefly in the 16th, 17th, and 18th century
Miscellaneous papers (bound in about 1875-80), bearing on English history and topography. Some were written to the editor of the Gentleman's Magazine, some are 17th century records. Many were Gough's, and nearly all may have been, though the number in his own handwriting is not large. The chief items, out of a large number, are:

- Fol. 200. the original paper distributing among poor Oxford scholars, who are named, £100 in accordance with bp. John Watson's will, 6 July 1585, with two seals (one broken)
- Fol. 205. account of the election of a Provost of Queen's college Oxford, 11 Mar. 1645/6, in Latin
- Fol. 207. a Ballad on the Oxfordshire election (17th century), beg. 'Wee are told by the towne'
- Fol. 208. account of dr. Price's election as Bodley's Librarian, 1768, with a few other Oxford anecdotes
- Fol. 212. rough drawing of Littlemore nunnery seal, 1223, apparently in A. Wood's hand
- Fol. 254. drawing and letter by Geo. Bennett about a model of an old building connected with Glastonbury abbey, 5 May 1804
- Fol. 263. copies of some deeds relating to the church plate and chantries of Bury St. Edmund's, 1547-1617
