Collections made by James Bowen, a painter and undertaker of Shrewsbury (d. 1774: his printed trade-card is in Gough Shropshire 2, p. 744; 18, p. 41) and his son John, for a history of Shropshire and especially Shrewsbury: Miscellaneous copies of records by James Bowen, 1772, among which are:
- Extracts relating to Wenlock (fol. 7)
- Church notes of Broadway (fol. 11v)
- Tredington (fol. 20)
- Shipston on Stour (fol. 32)
- All in Worcestershire, and of Ebburton (fol. 29)

- At fol. 2 is a letter from dr. Humphrey Owen thanking James Bowen for presenting to the Bodleian copies of Caxton's Recueil of the Histories of Troy and Game of Chess, 1751
