Collections made by James Bowen, a painter and undertaker of Shrewsbury (d. 1774: his printed trade-card is in Gough Shropshire 2, p. 744; 18, p. 41) and his son John, for a history of Shropshire and especially Shrewsbury: The same as MS. Gough Shropshire 7, in an older form, and apparently complete for the whole county, but different in order. An index of places is supplied by Gough: and a few pedigrees are at the end.
