Collections made by James Bowen, a painter and undertaker of Shrewsbury (d. 1774: his printed trade-card is in Gough Shropshire 2, p. 744; 18, p. 41) and his son John, for a history of Shropshire and especially Shrewsbury:

  1. Extracts from Shropshire parish registers, etc. (a list of parishes is on fol. 1), by James Bowen, 1768
  2. At fol. 1v is a list of the persons the writer had been 'concerned for, at funerals, as an Undertaker', 1751-74
