A Roman Breviary, Written in the 13th and 14th century in Italy
A Roman Breviary for Franciscan use made up out of two manuscripts. In the 13th cent. hand are:
- A Proprium de Tempore (fol. 137) wanting some leaves at beginning
- The end of a Psalter, consisting of a Litany at the end of an Office for the Dead (fol. 222)
- 'Breuiarium in festiuitatibus Sanctorum' (fol. 224v)
- A Commune Sanctorum (fol. 274v) incomplete at end
This has been supplemented by a 14th cent. hand, which has contributed:
- A Calendar (fol. 1: Franciscan, made such by erasures and additions)
- Psalter with Canticles, Litany, etc. (fol. 8, wanting the first leaf)
- Hymnal (fol. 108v)
Two more hands of about A.D. 1400 have supplied missing leaves and interfered with the Psalter (see fols. 7, 125, 277, etc.).
