Correspondence and papers relating to the Great Lakes emergency of 1994-1995 kept by the Strategic Planning and Evaluation Team, the Emergencies Department, and the Oxfam International Emergency Liaison, who was based in the Emergencies Department. All files in this subseries were created or acquired by the Strategic Planning and Evaluation Team for the purposes of the evaluation of Oxfam's response to the emergency.

Biographical / Historical

In 1995 Oxfam began to carry out an evaluation of its response to the Great Lakes emergency, the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide of 1994. The evaluation was coordinated by the Strategic Planning and Evaluation team, which acquired for the purpose files and papers that had been kept by the Emergencies Department during and after the emergency.

Arrangement

Materials in the subseries are arranged according to the originating department of the file series and then, as far as possible, by subject. Within these divisions files are arranged chronologically according to the earliest date in the file. Titles of files, where available, are given in single quotes.
