Biographical / Historical
The Rural Development Panel was established in 1978, with a membership consisting of Oxfam staff and outside experts. Its role included advice to Oxfam on policies for rural development, and on the implications of specific projects or proposals referred to it by Field Committees or other bodies, and offering and receiving proposals for study in rural development method and procedure.
In 1981 the panel was renamed the Development Advisory Panel.
