Really 348 pages, as pp. 235-242 are all double. A note in the hand of F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy is on p. 8.

Music copied by Franz Xaver Gleichauf and others. This and the identification of the composers of nos. 5-20, 26, 53, 66, 80, 88, 100, 104, 107-8 and others, can be found in Dr. Yoshitake Kobayashi's dissertation, Franz Hauser und seine Bach-Handschriftensammlung, Göttingen, 1973].

There are 113 chorale preludes (nos. 1-113), 74 of which are by J.S. Bach, mostly from the Orgelbüchlein and the Achtzehn Choräle von verschiedener Art. Copied amongst these are 17 by Johann Gottfried Walther (nos. 5-20 and 26, where reference is made to the numbers given by Max Seiffert, Denkmäler deutscher Tonkunst, 26, Reprint 1958), 6 by Johann Ludwig Krebs (nos. 66, 80, 102, 104 and 107-108), 1 by Johann Philipp Kirnberger (no. 88) and 1 by Georg Friedrich Kauffmann (no. 53).

Also included here are 17 chorale preludes listed in the Anhang of W. Schmieder's BWV (nos. 26, 37, 75-77, 92-93, 98-101, 103, 105, 107, 109-110 and 121).

With these works are copies of preludes, fantasias and fugues for organ (nos. 114-121 and 127-130), and of three arias from cantatas with piano accompaniment (nos. 122 and 124-125), all by J.S. Bach. Nos. 122-124 are solo parts from Cantata 6, 'Bleib' bei uns', which were formerly with MS. M. Deneke Mendelssohn c. 56, 5. Frankfurt Caecilien-Verein stamp on pp. 236, 237.
