Drafts, fair copies, etc., mostly fragmentary, of various dates, 1823-[1847?]. First drafts are distinguished by the letters 'H[ilf] d[u] m[ir]' or 'L[ass] e[s] g[elingen] G[ott]'.

1-12: Dated music, in chronological order, 1823-1847:

1. (fols. 2-6) 4 songs for soprano and piano: 'Faunenklage' [MWV K11], beg. 'Er ist zerbrochen', dated 8 Jun 1823 and probably written later; first draft of 'Sicheln schallen' [MWV K12]; 'Tanzt dem schönen Mai entgegen' [MWV K13]; and 'Glosse', variations on a theme, 'Mitleidsworte Trostesgründe' [MWV K23]. 5 leaves. 333 × ca. 241 mm.

13. (fols. 42-52) Two very early sonatas for two pianos. 4 movements in score: Allegro, Menuetto and Trio, Prestissimo, in D major [MWV S1] and one in G minor [MWV S2] dated 21 Feb [1821 or earlier]. 11 leaves (quire of 5 bifolia and 1 extra leaf). 340 × 243 mm.

14. (fols. 54-62v) 'Sonate für das Piano-Forte' in A major. Not certainly F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy's work, but some marks appear to be his. Fair copy sewn in a green cover. 5 bifolia. Very large quarto, 338 × 247 mm.

15. (fols. 66-67) Duet in D minor for two violins [MWV R19]. 2 leaves. 373 × 230 mm.

The present content is from the collection of Marie Benecke and other sources. No. 1 was given to Cécile by 'Fräulein Blanc', i.e. Constanze Blanc (1779-1861), Singakademie member (1823-34), board member (1839-56).
