Op. 43, 'Serenade und Allegro giojoso', [2 April 1838]
Untitled orchestral parts in the hands of two copyists (one of whom was also the copyist of op. 45, MS. M. Deneke Mendelssohn c.34), with red crayon corrections and annotations in the composer's hand. These were presumably the parts used for the hastily-prepared and semi-improvised first performance in the Gewandhaus, Leipzig on 2 April 1838 (see T. Müller-Reuter: Lexikon der deutschen Konzertliteratur, p. 92). They differ considerably from those of the final published version of 1839.
