Biographical / Historical
The Namibia Support Committee, originally called the Friends of Namibia Committee, was established in 1969 as a United Kingdom support group for the South West African People's Organisation (SWAPO). It originated in London but from 1986 developed into a national campaign with a network of local groups. The AAM co-operated with the NSC in its work to raise public awareness of Namibia through conferences, demonstrations and lobbying. The NSC was wound up in 1993.
