Biographical / Historical

In addition to carrying out administrative work for the director, Joan McCartney was responsible for trustee administration, and in 1988 her role was formalised as 'Trustees Officer', a part-time role that she combined with a part-time role as International Oxfam Liaison Officer. The latter role became full-time in 1992.

Arrangement

The file 'U[nited]K[ingdom and]I[reland] Const[itution]' may have been created by Oxfam International administrators from loose papers left behind by Joan McCartney when she left that organization. Joan McCartney left Oxfam UK/I in 1995 to become full-time assistant to the director of Oxfam International.
