- File 1: Diaries of daily events, kept by Dr Ewing while he and his first wife, Margaret, were missionaries in Palestine. Item 1: 2 Jul-31 Dec 1888 Item 2: Jan-Dec 1889. There is mention of the birth of their son, John Morton Ewing, on 24 June. Item 3: 27 Jul-31 Dec 1890 Item 4: Jan- 20 Apr 1892. The record ends with the death of another baby.
- File 2, fols. 1-24: Letters from Dr Ewing to Sydney and Flora Moody, 1921-1922, 1924, 1928-1929 and 1931. Dr Ewing left his church in Edinburgh in 1932 and returned to Jerusalem, to the Scots Mission, but died that summer from a heart attack.
- File 3, fols. 1-223: Letters from Mrs Elizabeth Ewing to Flora Moody, 1921-1922 and 1925-1929.
- File 4, fols. 1-105: Letters from Mrs Ewing to Flora Moody, Apr 1930-Sep 1931, 1935, 1937-1940 and 1945-1946.
