Questionnaires, 1960-1981
The questionnaires focused on segmentation and stratification, religion, family and inter-group association and were issued to random samples of adults of both sexes drawn from the electoral roll. The East Indian sample was divided into Christian, Hindu and Muslim components and samples of Creoles and Dougla were also selected. A comparison sample was taken from Débé where the population was almost entirely East Indian and predominantly Hindu.
The samples were cross tabulated by occupation, education, age and mobility. Sets I and II were analysed in 1976 and the smaller set of household data (Set III) was analysed in 1981.
