Folder L.41. October-December 1966. Correspondence and papers relating to article "The Elusive Code of Life" by B. Commoner in Saturday Review 1 October 1966, casting doubt on the role of DNA, and the editorial comment suggesting that Kendrew shared this view; an extract from The Thread of Life was printed in support. Kendrew wrote a letter in rebuttal which was published with an editorial apology in the issue of 4 March 1967.
