Folder C.292. Correspondence with colleagues, Cambridge Repetition Engineers, MRC and others on supply of models, 1960-1970.

Following many requests for models of the myoglobin molecule, Kendrew approached MRC in May 1965 with a view to commercial manufacture and sale. He suggested the services of A.A. Barker of Cambridge Engineering Laboratories who had a small private business of the kind. After various discussions with MRC and National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) it was agreed that Barker should be formally licensed by NRDC to produce the models. Letters to colleagues about the scheme were circulated in May 1966; orders were received and processed, and priorities established, by Kendrew and passed on to Barker.

Folder C.293. Preliminary correspondence and negotiations with MRC and NRDC, circular letters to colleagues, May 1965-May 1966.

Folders C.294-297. Correspondence and orders, periodical lists of orders and priorities, 1966-1971.

Folder C.298. Science Museum, London. Correspondence with museum staff about loan or gift of various models, advice on captions etc. Various dates 1958-1977.
