Notes by Kendrew for the 3-D co-ordinates of the 153 amino-acids in myoglobin, n.d., c.1961.
The notes were originally made in a small format notebook unlike any elsewhere in the collection; according to Kendrew they were probably jotted down from a direct sight of the 2-Å model in the laboratory. The book was subsequently taken apart and each page stuck on to a separate sheet to fit into a standard looseleaf binder.
The notes are in three sections, setting out co-ordinates for ρ2, ρ3 and ρ4. Within each section the co-ordinates are based on the eight helices (numbered A-H) of the 2-ρ myoglobin molecule. Each section is separately paginated:
ρ2: pp. 1-53
ρ3: pp. 1-30
ρ4: pp. 1-13
- Creation: c.1961
