Folder M.8. Correspondence on rapid growth of the journal and what action, if any, was required. Includes Kendrew's circular letter of February 1965 to members of Advisory Board, and their replies, 1965-1966.

Folder M.9. Similar material to Folder M.8. Kendrew's circulars, graphs and information sent to members of Editorial Board on editorial policy and future of the journal especially in relation to its growth, and their replies. Includes Kendrew's analyses of replies received and opinions expressed, and memoranda received from E.C. Slater on similar problems faced by Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA).

Folder M.14. Continuing correspondence, drafts etc. on re-organisation of journal, mainly relating to editorial announcement of new system for the journal's "21st birthday" in 1980, and new arrangements for editors.

Folder M.15. 1981-1983. General correspondence with editors and authors on papers submitted, appointments to Editorial Board etc. Includes Kendrew's circular and graph April 1983 of manuscripts sent to the journal annually 1958-1982.

Folder M.16. 1982-1984. Correspondence on Protein Data Bank.

Folder M.17. 1984-1985. Correspondence on availability of biological materials and strains.

Folder M.18. 1984-1985. General correspondence with editors and authors. Includes letter from M.F. Perutz 12 November 1984 describing his new discoveries on haemoglobin structure and ion channels (for accelerated publication).

Folder M.19 (= closed). Correspondence and papers on manuscripts rejected or disputed.
