Folder J.14. Correspondence on various affairs of the Society, 1963-1981.
Includes correspondence 1964 on possibility of abstracts of BBS papers being published in Journal of Molecular Biology, and correspondence 1980-1981 on 21st anniversary meeting at Leeds, with a short account of the formation of BBS written by P.M. Harrison (Chairman, 1981).
British Broadcasting Corporation Science Consultative Group.
Folder J.15. The Group was set up in 1964 "to advise on the general nature of programmes on science" as a consequence of the Pilkington Committee, and had its first meeting on 29 May under the Chairmanship of Sir Alexander Haddow. Kendrew served from the inception of the Group until December 1967.
Folder includes correspondence with colleagues and BBC officials, minutes and background papers, ideas and comments on programmes, 1964-1967.

Kendrew served as a Trustee of the British Museum at the nomination of the President of the Royal Society (A.L. Hodgkin) for five years from April 1974.

Folder J.18. Campaign for Better Broadcasting.
This was a pressure group launched in September 1969 to draw attention to the proposals set out in the BBC report "Broadcasting in the '70s". Kendrew was one of the signatories of the first public letter circulated by the group.
Correspondence with secretary of the campaign (N.R. Jones), Director-General of BBC, arrangements for meetings, memoranda, background material etc., 1969.

Mainly correspondence, 1965, about meetings, but includes Kendrew's list of publications dealing with international organisations, and a copy of L. Kowarski's paper "An account of the origins and beginnings of CERN" (1961).
