Correspondence and papers relating to doctoral, postdoctoral and other research posts with the protein crystallography team. Applications come from UK and Europe, but mainly from USA, funded from various grant-giving institutions and foundations; there are also some MRC staff members on long or short-term contracts.

The material may include applications and recommendations for work in team, arrangements for funding, supply or importation of equipment, publications, advanced degrees, visits of varying duration, research proposals, progress and results, exchanges of information, related correspondence with other colleagues, etc. Some are brief exchanges, others extend over a considerable period and include news of subsequent career.
