Contents of a folder so inscribed divided into two for ease of reference; recordings, circuit diagrams etc.

Folder B.27: Further material regarding high resolution spectrometer; circuit diagrams, photographs of equipment etc. Some of the material is dated 1956 and 1958

Folder B.28: Photographs 'of a huge permanent magnet gap 1 1/2" field adjustable at about 12kg with 8mm (Q band) microwave components for electron nuclear double resonance, c.1963'.

Folders B.29-B.40: 'Superconducting magnets'.

Contents of a folder so inscribed, divided into four for ease of reference; principally correspondence and papers regarding the construction of two superconducting magnets.

Folder B.29: Superconducting magnets, 1964. Includes information about Varian associates' superconducting equipment.

Folder B.30: Superconducting magnets, 1965. Invitations to tender for the contract to build a superconducting magnet and correspondence arising. The magnet was in due course built by the Oxford Instrument Company Limited.

Folder B.31: Superconducting magnets, c.1965. Ms. and typescript drafts of 'specification details required for consideration with tender'; 'report on superconducting magnet' (5pp. + 1p. costings); miscellaneous ms. notes and diagrams.

Folder B.32: Superconducting magnets, 1967, 1968. Includes specification and costing of second magnet from Oxford Instruments, 28 December 1967, attached to ms. note by Richards on first magnet.

Folders B.33, B.34: Superconducting magnets, 1970. Tests on superconducting magnet in course of construction. Concerned with field homogeneity and how changes with time and field stability'. Contents of a folder so inscribed divided into two for ease of reference.

Folders B.35-B.40: Correspondence and papers regarding the supply of liquid helium for superconducting magnets.
