Custodial History
Formerly belonged to Charles Hatchett and Joseph Warren who added a note at the beginning of Thomyris: 'The recitatives to this opera were composed by Dr Pepusch. The airs he selected from Scarlatti and Bononcini as appears by the Preface to the printed score. But this (manuscript) singular to relate is in the handwriting of Dr Croft and it is just possible he may have had a hand in it'. According to Watkins Shaw, none of this manuscript is in Croft's hand, but in that of the scribe of MS. Tenbury 1221.
