Biographical / Historical
At an extraordinary general meeting in June 1994 the decision was taken to dissolve the Anti-Apartheid Movement, following the democratic elections in South Africa earlier that year, and to establish a successor organisation to promote peace and development in the Southern African region through campaigning, education and solidarity. Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) was launched in October 1994.
