Freedom Productions Limited was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Anti-Apartheid Movement and was incorporated in January 1988. Initially its sole purpose was to manage the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium in June 1988 and to exploit any film and recording rights arising from it. In 1990 the company undertook to manage the concert staged at Wembley in April to mark Mandela's release. Freedom Productions Limited ceased trading in 1995.
