Biographical / Historical

Speakers' Notes provided guidance to Conservative candidates and activists on aspects of European policy, detailing the positions adopted by the European Community, the Conservative Party, and the Labour Party on the major issues of the election. The volume, produced in the same manner as the Speakers' Notes series for general election campaigns, also provided proforma answers to potential attacks on Conservative Policy and useful statistical data on issues affecting Europe. It was published jointly by the Conservative Research Department and the European Democratic Group Secretariat, and printed by Conservative Central Office.
