Biographical / Historical
A.E.J. Symonds (fl. 1929-1969) was a Research Officer for the Post Office Engineering Department (Radio Branch) and an engineer at Criggion Post Office Communication Station in Shropshire. He also studied the roosting behaviour of starlings, Sturnus vulgaris, and published 'The rate of build-up and evacuation of country starling roosts and the effect of severe winter conditions on these procedures', in Bird Study, vol. 12, no. 1, in 1965.
