Biographical / Historical
Dr. Philip Bliss (1787-1857) was an antiquary and editor. He was on the staff of the Bodleian Library from 1808 to about 1813, and 1822-1828. He was Registrar of the University of Oxford (1824-1853), Keeper of the Archives (1826-1857), and Principal of St. Mary Hall (from 1848 until his death in 1857).
