Biographical / Historical

Alfred William Morant (1828-81) was an engineer, surveyor and antiquary.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collections were bought from Puttick and Simpson 24 May 1882 (Morant sale), lots 1415, 1446, 1404 and vols. 12, 5 and 7, from Barnard numbers 3311 , 3313, 3312 respectively.
