Abstract

Biographical / Historical

The Jon Stallworthy Poetry Prize is given in memory of Professor Jon Stallworthy (1935-2014), poet and Fellow of Wolfson College. It is open to postgraduate students of the University of Oxford. The inaugural prize was awarded in 2016.

The Sir Roger Newdigate Prize, founded in 1806, is awarded to undergraduates of the University of Oxford for composition in English verse.

The Lord Alfred Douglas Memorial Prize is awarded to a student for composing a sonnet or a poem in strict rhyming metre. It was set up in 1999 and the first prize was awarded in 2000.

The English Poem on a Sacred Subject Prize was founded in 1848 by an unknown benefactor. It is awarded triennially to a graduate member of the University of Oxford.
