Photographs of South Africa and other locations

 Collection

  • How to
    request

Four photograph albums and one further box of loose photographs. Mostly of South Africa, especially Cape Town and the Transvaal, but also include disparate locations in the UK and abroad, 1870s-1920s (mainly 1880s-90s). The material was orginally purchased by Martin Plaut for research purposes. Although the subject matter appears to overlap, it is reckoned that the collection has been assembled from unrelated sales.
