Typescript (c.1980s) of a commentry by Robert Henary Cheney in 1846 on James Pycroft's account of his days at Trinity College, Oxford, in the 1830s, The collegian's guide, or Recollections of college days: setting forth the advantages and temptations of a university education (1845). The original manuscript is probably lost. Cheney draws on his own experience of Oxford University to comment on Pycroft's description of student life.

Cheney's brother Edward has incorrectly been identified as the author of the commentary but did not attend Oxford University.
