Folder 1: The Beira Railway Company Limited, 1933-1938:

  1. in Apr 1933, Chancellor was appointed a Trustee for the 6 1/2% Debenture Stock-holders of the Company, his fellow Trustee being Baron Frederic d'Erlanger
  2. the papers consist of correspondence, chiefly with A.J. Lavington, Secretary of the Company, and Messrs Slaughter and May, stockbrokers, and documents concerning the Trust.

Folder 2: The Rhodesia Railways Limited 1933-1936:

  1. in May 1933, Chancellor was appointed a Trustee for the 3% and 4% Debentures, his fellow Trustee being Colonel C.F. Birney
  2. both this and the above Trusteeships were arranged at the instigation of Sir Henry Birchenough, and the file contains correspondence with him and with W. Smalley, Assistant Secretary of the Company, and documents concerning the Trust.

Folder 3: Colonial Empire Marketing Board - Correspondence, minutes, and memoranda, 14 Sep 1937-15 May 1938:

  1. the first items are letters from W. Ormsby-Gore about Chancellor's appointment to the Board and to the Colonial Development Advisory Committee (see folders 5 and 6).

Folder 5: Colonial Development Advisory Committee - Memoranda, reports, and some correspondence 22 Sep 1937-Jul 1941:

  1. the first item is a copy of the Minutes recording Chancellor's appointment to the Committee.

Folder 6: Colonial Development Advisory Committee - Minutes of Meetings of the Committee, 14 Feb 1938-18 Jul 1939.
