About the work that remains to be done towards abolition, and about the great following their father now has in Parliament, as leader of the emancipation cause, with very many members promising him their support, as well as telling him of the strong feelings for the issue among the public, which had been evident during their canvassing. She mentions that Buxton is, on the whole, pleased with the government's intentions, and that Lord Howick had said to Buxton that he hoped he was now content.
