Letters:
- (fols. 89-89a) on the possibility that sales of shares by Howorth's executors may have 'helped the beginning of the slump' in Niger shares; Report on Niger Company not encouraging, though it is 'obvious' that Leverhulme was 'talking... down' the shares; constant changes in the Niger directorate a symptom of 'malaise' or merely the 'changeable mind of the Governor-autocrat'
- (fols. 89b) Leverhulme may buy Preference shares at the present low price; and Emmott will sell his when they rise to pre-slump prices.
