Concerning former's signing of contract with African & Eastern Corporation for the acquisition of its Ordinary shares; these and all Lever's West African interests to be transferred to the Niger Company, necessitating 'very extensive changes' on the Niger Board, among which are Batty as Chairman and Findlay and Greenhalgh as Vice-Chairmen; the question of joint Governors raised again; news of deal and forthcoming changes read by Scarbrough in Liverpool press.

On request, the 1919 Niger balance sheet is sent to him, expressly for Leverhulme's 'personal information alone'; the latter's acknowledgement explains that he has shown it to some of his Co-Directors.

(fols. 309, 316-318) Own manuscript drafts.
