Gen. Sir A. Read, GCB, CBE, DSO, MC, born 1913. Educated at Winchester College, and Sandhurst, 1932-1934. Obtained a commission in the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, 1934, and served with the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF), 1936-1945.
