Biographical / Historical

Maj. L.R. Raymond, born in 1920, son of an estate agent. Educated at University College School, London. Obtained a commission in the King's Regiment, 1938, and served in the Indian Army, 1942; in the Seychelles, 1942-1944; in Greece and Italy, 1944-1945; and in the Sudan Defence Force and the Camel Corps, 1947-1948. Worked in the War Office, 1948-1950, and the Regiment Depot, 1950-1953. Served in Korea, 1953; in Singapore, 1953-1956; and in West Germany, 1956-1958. Served on the British Military Mission to Libya, 1958-1960, and with the Nigerian Army, 1961-1953; served in Berlin, 1963-1967; and in Aden, 1967.
