plan by Morgan for the improvement of the condition of the peoples of Western Africa by the government purchase of tracts of land for settlement, placing a steamer on each river for communication with each settlement and to promote commerce, encouraging the Fulani, already an agricultural people, to come to the settlements and to move away from the coast into the healthier inland areas and by encouraging emigration from the West Indies, n.d.
Charles Grant to Rev. John Morgan, Wesleyan Travelling Preacher at Southampton, commenting on his plan and its chances of success, saying that he had only mentioned it to one or two of his colleagues at that time and if they gathered any information of use to Morgan, he would pass it on, 25 Mar 1833.
